Media Audit Pro™ Product Line Changelog
Media Audit Tool™, Media Audit Pro™, and Asset Intelligence Engine™ share one changelog, since they're built from the same codebase. Each entry is flagged with the tier it applies to: MAT for every tier, MAP for Media Audit Pro™, and AIE for Asset Intelligence Engine™.
Asset Intelligence Engine™ 1.0.1 — August 6, 2026
- AIE Fixed: The plugin description shown in Extensions named Media Audit Tool™ rather than Media Audit, and did not mention that the Asset Intelligence Report requires Media Audit Pro™ to be active.
1.2.31 — August 6, 2026
- MAT Changed: The interface is now called simply Media Audit. One codebase serves all three editions, so naming the menu and page titles after the free edition meant Media Audit Pro™ customers saw the wrong product name throughout. The products themselves are unchanged — Media Audit Tool™, Media Audit Pro™ and Asset Intelligence Engine™ are still what you download, buy and update.
- MAT Added: Edition badges at the top of the Dashboard. Media Audit Pro™ and Asset Intelligence Engine™ status used to sit in tiles near the bottom of the page; now you can see what you are running at a glance, and the Extension row reports your actual edition. The Digital Asset Inspector™ shows the same badges, so both screens agree — and its old status chip no longer looks like a button you are supposed to click.
- MAT Changed: Dashboard links updated — Documentation, Support, License, and a Changelog link replacing Release Notes.
- MAP Changed: The description written into an exported Custom Analyzer plugin no longer names a specific edition, since whoever installs it may be running either one.
- MAT Fixed: The message shown after installing or updating reported the previous version number.
- MAT Changed: The Asset Intelligence Engine™ note on the asset preview now links to where you can get it, instead of asking you to go and find it.
1.2.30 — July 21, 2026
- AIE Changed: Asset Intelligence Reports and Optimize Now resizing now live entirely inside the Asset Intelligence Engine™ add-on. No visible change if you already have it installed and enabled.
1.2.29 — July 17, 2026
- MAT Fixed: Download IDs weren't always saving correctly, which could cause licensed update checks to silently stop authenticating.
1.2.28 — July 14, 2026
- AIE Fixed: Optimize Now could leave an asset's live file missing if a resize failed partway through. Originals are now safely archived first and automatically restored if anything goes wrong.
1.2.27 — July 12, 2026
- MAT Added: A Download ID field (Options → Updates) so licensed update checks and downloads can be authenticated.
- MAT Added: Clear Image Caches now flags higher-risk cache folders with a clear warning before you delete them, and includes Joomla's own system cache automatically.
- MAP Changed: YOOtheme Pro's template cache is now confirmed low-risk to clear.
1.2.20–1.2.25 — July 11, 2026
- MAT Fixed: Clearing image caches could remove a folder some extensions still needed to write into, breaking thumbnails until it was manually recreated. Cache folders are now only ever emptied, never deleted.
- MAT Changed: Clear Image Caches (renamed from Image Cache Folders) also clears Joomla's site/admin cache and any location an Analyzer declares, starting with YOOtheme Pro's template cache.
- MAP Fixed: The Custom Analyzers list's enable/disable toggle failed with an "invalid security token" error.
- MAP Fixed: An analyzer exported as a plugin could appear twice in the results table, with one entry stuck at zero.
- MAP Added: "Export as Plugin" for Custom Analyzers — turn a saved Custom Analyzer into a standalone, installable plugin.
- MAP Added: Support for JSON-encoded path fields (like Joomla Categories' image field) in the Custom Analyzer Builder, with live sample-value previews, step-through row checking, and a configuration checker.
- MAP Fixed: Several Custom Analyzer Builder usability issues — clearer field naming, more reliable validation messages, and layout fixes.
- MAP Fixed: The Custom Analyzers screen stayed reachable even when its underlying engine wasn't installed or enabled, leaving saved definitions silently inactive.
- MAP Added: Media Audit Pro™ can now collect declared cache locations from every installed Analyzer, starting with the YOOtheme Analyzer's own template cache.
- AIE Fixed: A layout overlap in the Asset Intelligence Report's Discovered References list for long analyzer/source names.
1.2.12–1.2.16 — July 10, 2026
- MAP Added: Live sample-value previews next to each column picker in the Custom Analyzer Builder, so you can confirm you picked the right column before saving.
- MAP Fixed: "Check Configuration" and column sample values could fail unpredictably; both are now reliable.
- MAP Fixed: Dark mode made some Custom Analyzer Builder fields unreadable (white text on white background).
- MAT Fixed: A placeholder character could appear instead of a quote mark in some field descriptions.
- MAP Added: TAGZ Analyzer — scans TAGZ Open Graph settings for social-share image references.
1.2.6–1.2.11 — July 9, 2026
- MAT Added: The Content Analyzer can now scan Content Categories for image references, including images stored in a category's own settings.
- AIE Added: Rendered Intelligence can now assess Content Categories, the same way it already does for Articles.
- MAP Added: JSON-encoded path fields are now supported in the Custom Analyzer Builder.
- MAT Fixed: A packaging issue prevented an update from installing correctly on brand-new sites.
- MAP Fixed: The Custom Analyzers sidebar item could show a raw placeholder instead of "Custom Analyzers" once selected.
1.2.0–1.2.5 — July 8, 2026
- MAP Added: Custom Analyzer Builder — define your own no-code Analyzer against any table in your database, no plugin required.
- MAT Changed: The Referenced tab is now available at every tier, including the free Media Audit Tool™, not just Media Audit Pro™.
- AIE Added: "Optimize Now" — resize an oversized image directly to its ideal size from the Asset Intelligence Report, with the original safely archived first.
- AIE Added: Rendered Intelligence can now assess Contacts' front-end pages.
- MAT Added: Restoring a Trash item whose original location is already occupied now asks whether to cancel, overwrite, or keep both.
- MAP Added: Contacts Analyzer — scans Joomla Contacts for image and content references.
- MAP Added: WidgetKit Analyzer — scans YOOtheme WidgetKit widgets for image references.
- AIE Fixed: The status indicator could read "Asset Intelligence Engine™ Active" even when only Media Audit Pro™ was installed.
- MAT Fixed: Several small interface issues — text-wrapping, the search box, the restore action, a duplicate button, and an occasional loading-overlay hang.
1.1.26–1.1.29 — July 7, 2026
- MAP Fixed: The Banners Analyzer wasn't reporting any results.
- MAT Reduced: Memory use when scanning articles, Custom HTML modules, and menu items, especially on sites with many or large articles.
- MAP Reduced: Same memory-use improvement for the YOOtheme Analyzer.
- AIE Added: A resizing-opportunity note in the Asset Intelligence Report suggesting potential space savings for oversized images — the first version of what's now Optimize Now.
- MAT Added: A loading overlay, a path search box, faster repeat page loads, and a published-state column on the Inspector's Referenced tab, along with matching visual polish.
- MAT Fixed: Sorting the Inspector's tables could incorrectly redirect to the Dashboard.
- MAT Added: A companion helper shows the same loading overlay when navigating into Media Audit Tool™ from the Joomla sidebar or Dashboard.
1.1.22–1.1.26 — July 6, 2026
- MAT Changed: Introduced three tiers: Media Audit Tool™ (free, Content Analyzer only), Media Audit Pro™ (additional Analyzers), and Media Audit Pro™ + Asset Intelligence Engine™ (full Asset Intelligence Report).
- MAP Added: Media Audit Pro™ — the add-on that recognizes and coordinates every Analyzer beyond Content.
- AIE Changed: Asset Intelligence Engine™ now requires Media Audit Pro™ to be installed and enabled; a full Asset Intelligence Report requires both to be active.
- MAT Added: A Media Audit Pro™ status tile on the Dashboard.
- MAT Added: Dashboard counts are now cached, so opening the Joomla Dashboard no longer triggers a full scan every time.
- MAT Added: A "Reserved" status for extension-owned asset directories, which are never offered for trashing.
- MAP Added: Reserved status covers jDownloads' own bundled icon sets, which no longer appear as false-positive orphans.
- MAT Added: Better recognition of whether a referenced item is currently published, across more content types.
1.1.19–1.1.21 — July 4, 2026
- MAT Changed: Renamed the component-only preview to "Asset Preview" when Asset Intelligence Engine™ isn't installed, with guidance on what the full engine adds.
- MAT Changed: Renamed Dashboard asset-type labels for clarity.
- MAT Fixed: Broken previews no longer appear for assets already in Trash.
- MAT Fixed: Long filenames no longer run behind the preview column in the Asset Intelligence Report.
- AIE Added: Rendered dimensions now show "Not applicable" for document/download assets like PDFs, instead of a blank or confusing result.
1.0.1 — July 2026
- MAT Added: The Asset Intelligence Report Inspector view, including an Asset Identity panel and a References panel.
- AIE Added: A Rendered Intelligence panel with assessment status reporting — assessing an asset's actual on-page rendered dimensions.
- MAT Added: Inspector navigation controls.
- MAT Changed: Improved orphan-detection accuracy, the Trash & Restore workflow, media identification, and overall Inspector performance and interface consistency.
- MAT Fixed: Various Inspector navigation, rendering, and interface polish issues.
0.2.8 — June 29, 2026
- AIE Added: Initial foundation release of the Asset Intelligence Engine™ add-on.
1.0.0 — June 2026, Initial Release
- MAT Added: Initial release of Media Audit Tool™ — media inventory and assessment, the Content Analyzer, the Digital Asset Inspector™, safe Trash with Restore, asset reference detection for Articles, Categories, and Modules, orphan identification, bulk asset management, and a built-in updater.
