Uninstalling the Package
Media Audit Pro™ is distributed as a single Joomla package, so removing it is a one-step process: uninstalling the package removes the component and every extension bundled inside it at the same time.
Steps to Uninstall MAP
- Back up your site. Uninstalling the package will remove its database tables. If you want to keep a record of your Referenced/Unreferenced results or anything currently sitting in the MAP Trash, take a full site/database backup first.
- Go to System → Manage → Extensions in your Joomla Administrator.
- Search for the package. Depending on your edition, it will be listed as Media Audit Tool™, Media Audit Pro™, or Asset Intelligence Engine™, with a Type of Package.
- Note: due to a known display issue that's still being fixed, the package name may currently show as the placeholder PKG_MAT in the Extensions list instead of its proper name. If your search doesn't turn up a result, search for PKG_MAT instead.
- Select the package and click Uninstall. Because MAP ships as a package, Joomla will automatically uninstall every extension it contains along with it — you don't need to remove the component or its plugins separately.
Important Notes
- Uninstalling the package only removes extensions that were installed as part of that package. If you or a previous administrator installed an Analyzer separately (for example, downloaded and uploaded on its own rather than bundled with a MAP update), it will not be removed automatically.
- After uninstalling, search System → Manage → Extensions for "Analyzer" or "Media Audit" to check for any leftover Analyzer plugins, and uninstall them individually if found.
After Uninstallation
A few items can remain on your site even after MAP is fully removed. It's worth reviewing and cleaning these up manually:
- Any Menu Items pointing to MAP's admin views.
- Files still sitting in the MAP Trash at the time of uninstall — these remain on your server since the package's database records (which tracked their original paths) are gone.
- Any leftover Analyzer plugins installed outside the package, as noted above.
